In honor of the men and women who risk their lives every day to protect our great country Amanda Gracie is based on the true story of a young lady soldier returning from Iraq after suffering a traumatic brain injury in a roadside bomb incident. Once home, she could not remember her two year old daughter. The song was inspired by the work of Operation Helmet. A life is more than a beating heart, working arms and legs. It is about our memories, our thoughts, our hopes and dreams. Three versions of the song can be found below:
