Being an Air Force medic assigned to an Army unit is a challenging and rewarding task. My profession is to take care of my fellow soldiers, even if it is something as simple as upgraded helmet pads.. 19 May 2014: Duties: USAF Convoy Medic attached to the Army.. Current Pads: Green hard pads. Comments: My soldiers can’t wear their helmet for a long period of time because of the helmet pads are too hard. It’s really uncomfortable to wear it, specially on a long 10-18 hr missions. I’m hoping this pads will eliminate those issues and prevent them from removing helmet while on convoy. Thank you so much for supporting our troops. SSgt, USAF

They’re so big you have to get a helmet one size bigger than your head because there is an inch of padding inside. SSgt, USAF.

2 Jan 2014: Kits: 1. Hometown: St Marys, GA. Heard About us: One of our pilots received your upgrade kit. Duties: I work directly with the Afghan Air Force as an advisor. Current Pads: The pads are made by Ops-Core, they are a dense styrofom and have a thin 1/4″ soft pad attached. Comments: My biggest issue with the pads is that other than being uncomfortable, they cause my helmet to ride high on my head. TSgt, USAF.
