Pain and discomfort

Kits: 9. Hometown: Statesboro, GA. Heard about us: Peer, coworker. Duties: Infantry, patrols, QRF, BDOC. Current Pads: Standard issue ACH pads. Comments: The biggest problems my squad faces with our current ACH pads are pain and discomfort. Which forces us to want to take our ACHs off at every opportunity. Also with our current pads the ACHs don’t fit very well and this is especially true when wearing NVGs. Having an upgraded set of pads in our ACHs will make my squad more combat effective in a multitude of ways. Thank you guys for all that you do it is all greatly appreciated. SSG, US Army

Kits: 5. Hometown: Kempner, TX. Heard about us: Duties: Convoys and Network installation. Current Pads: Army issued pads. Comments: I’ve had these pads for over a year now and they are stiff as rock. Kits: 15. Hometown: Bessemer City, NC. Heard about us: Fellow squad leader. Duties: Infantry. Current Pads: Standard issue MSA pads. They are grey and glued. Comments: The pads we are issued just can’t hold up with the tempo in which have been training. They fit when they are brand new but within a week or two, they are flat and uncomfortable. This leads to Soldiers constantly having to readjust their ACH and i have had a few complaints of of headache while we are training. I have tried to get new and better helmet pads through both the unit supply and the post CIF, neither have been successful. Not only are they uncomfortable, but they also fall apart easily after being sweated on. Certain soldiers cant readjust their pads because the glue is no longer holding and if they continue to pull them on and off the velcro part will pull apart from the pad. CPL, US Army

Kits: 18. Heard about us: online. Duties: infantry. Current Pads: Grey standard issue pads. Comments: Our current standard issue pads are uncomfortable and they freeze in the winter. We are currently deployed to Afghanistan but our home station is Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson Alaska. In the winter time our helmet pads are extremely uncomfortable which affects our ability to work efficiently for long hours with our helmets on. SGT, US Army
